Damage Claims Policy

Linkit Services is operated by Linkit Services LLC.

This Damage Claims Policy explains how customers report property damage or loss allegedly caused during a service visit, what information is required, how claims are evaluated, and how resolutions are determined. By placing a booking, you agree to this policy.

Reporting Deadline

Damage or loss must be reported to Linkit Services within 24 hours of the scheduled service completion time. Claims submitted after this window may not be eligible for review unless there is a documented reason for the delay.

Required Documentation

Every damage claim must include all of the following to be considered:

  • Clear, date-stamped photographs of the damaged area or item from multiple angles
  • A detailed written description of the damage, including what was affected, how it was discovered, and when
  • The specific room or area where the damage occurred
  • Booking confirmation number and the date and time of the service visit
  • Any prior photos of the area, if available, to help assess pre-existing condition

Claims missing required documentation may be delayed or declined.

Investigation Process

Linkit Services LLC will review every properly submitted claim. Our investigation may include:

  • Reviewing the submitted photographs, description, and booking records
  • Contacting the customer for additional information
  • Contacting the service provider for their account of the visit
  • Assessing whether the damage occurred during the scope of the booked service
  • Evaluating whether the damage may be pre-existing, normal wear and tear, or unrelated to the service

Most investigations are completed within 5–7 business days. Complex claims may require additional time, and we will notify you if a longer review is necessary.

Independent Provider Insurance

Service providers operating through Linkit Services are independent contractors. Providers may carry their own general liability, property damage, or business insurance. Linkit Services LLC does not insure providers or guarantee that any individual provider carries insurance. Customers may request proof of insurance directly from their assigned provider before service.

Facilitation & Resolution

Linkit Services LLC may facilitate communication between the customer and the service provider to reach a mutually acceptable resolution. Depending on the circumstances and findings, Linkit Services LLC may:

  • Coordinate a direct repair or replacement arrangement between the customer and provider
  • Offer a service credit or partial refund at Linkit Services LLC's sole discretion
  • Refer the customer to the provider's insurance carrier if the provider has applicable coverage
  • Decline the claim if the damage is determined to be pre-existing, wear and tear, or unrelated to the service

Linkit Services LLC is not an insurer and does not guarantee reimbursement for any claim. Resolution is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Exclusions

The following are generally excluded from coverage or consideration under this policy:

  • Damage that existed prior to the service and was not disclosed at booking
  • Normal wear and tear, gradual deterioration, or inherent defects in materials or construction
  • Damage caused by the customer, occupants, pets, or third parties unrelated to the service provider
  • Claims submitted without the required photographs, description, or affected-area details
  • Claims submitted after the 24-hour reporting deadline
  • Items of extraordinary or undocumented value unless declared and acknowledged in advance

Fraudulent or False Claims

Linkit Services LLC reserves the right to deny any claim that appears fraudulent, false, or intentionally misleading. Submission of fraudulent claims may result in suspension of booking privileges, referral to law enforcement, and pursuit of available legal remedies.

Limitation of Liability

Linkit Services LLC is a marketplace and booking coordinator, not a direct service provider. Our liability for any claim is limited to the total amount paid for the specific booking in question, except where prohibited by law. Linkit Services LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

Policy Updates

Linkit Services LLC may update this Damage Claims Policy from time to time. The version in effect on the date your service is completed is the version that applies to that booking.
